Sometimes, the large size of an everyday carry blade isn’t comfortable for the user. Often, we simply feel better using a smaller knife, especially around other people. This aspect was crucial in designing the Humbler folding knife. The name, derived directly from the word ‘humble,’ reflects the concept of the project. Modest, friendly, non-controversial, classically elegant, and versatile. That’s the Humbler. Designed as a slipjoint—a ‘legal friendly’ construction in many countries—combined with a more modern appearance and materials, this design stands out among similar knives. In the future, it will also be available in a ‘liner lock/flipper’ construction, making the Humbler a proposition for a wide range of users.

Thoughtful Design, Everyday Function

Humbler delivers the same high-quality craftsmanship you expect from MK Knives & Tools, but with a more understated, subtle character. The wavy pattern on the handle scales, though appearing random at first glance, forms a balanced, puzzle-like structure. It reflects the values important to the designer: precision, consistency, and visual harmony through symmetrical lines and well-placed accents.

Color also plays a key role—each design stays true to the recognizable MK style, making their knives easy to identify. The Humbler was developed with a specific goal in mind: to create a discreet, universally useful knife that doesn’t draw unwanted attention or stir mixed reactions. True to its name, the Humbler is all about quiet confidence—and it delivers.

Timeless Blade Shape, Modern Materials

The blade and overall shape of the Humbler are inspired by classic pocket knives—familiar, practical, and time-tested. The drop point blade features a nail nick for two-handed opening, offering great control and utility for daily tasks.

Despite the traditional vibe, everything else is fully modern. The blade is made from premium stainless steels like Elmax, MagnaCut, or others—known for their toughness, corrosion resistance, and ease of maintenance. As with other MK knives, the steel type may vary depending on the specific version.

Smooth Action, Solid Slipjoint Build

The Humbler was originally designed as a classic slipjoint knife—meant to be opened with both hands, with no locking mechanism. Its movement is smooth, thanks to phosphor bronze washers, and its open position is secure thanks to a strong, precisely engineered spring.

The internals are just as carefully crafted: titanium liners, an Elmax steel backspacer, and a matching pivot pin provide structure and strength. When the blade is closed, a carbide stop pin keeps it securely in place.

Comfortable in Hand, Made with Quality Materials

Depending on the edition, the handle scales may be made from Micarta, G10, G10 with epoxy inserts, carbon fiber, FatCarbon, or other durable materials. Regardless of the choice, all handle surfaces are textured for a solid grip.

The scales are attached with stainless steel screws, carefully color-matched to the rest of the knife. A lanyard hole is integrated into the backspacer, allowing for the addition of a paracord, lanyard, or decorative bead. Some editions may even include a custom MK Knives bead.

Humbler Production – Hidden Pivot, Classic Feel, Modern Build

Many fans of compact knives love the feel of a traditional slipjoint—but prefer the convenience of a modern flipper and a secure locking mechanism. The production version of Humbler bridges that gap.

This version features a flipper tab, liner lock, and ceramic bearings—all packed into a body that still looks like a traditional slipjoint. The trick? A hidden pivot design. The pivot screw is concealed under the handle scales, keeping the clean, classic appearance without sacrificing modern performance.

The handle remains slim and easy to carry, staying true to the minimalist philosophy behind the design. Soon, users will get to enjoy a folding knife that blends old-school charm with modern innovation.
