WORLD OF A FOUNDER

RAISED IN THE WORKSHOP
Marcin Kampka. Knifemaker. He practically grew up in a workshop. Navigating among tools was natural for him, and using them in the nearby forest from a young age was nothing unusual. Cutting with an axe at the age of 5 under the watchful eye of his carpenter grandfather is one of the classic stories told in the family. In later years, accompanying his father in a steel workshop developed his need for further growth in this direction. At the age of 12, he made his first knife from a wood saw, which he still has today.
During high school, where he attended a mechanical technical faculty, he developed a passion for fishing, and creating his own fishing lures consumed his free time.

His desire for development and focused interests led him to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.
During these studies, knifemaking became his main hobby, deepening Marcin Kampka’s knowledge in metallurgy, hardening, material science, and machine construction. He then channeled this knowledge into his full-time knifemaking career, which he began seriously in 2014.
His first individual project was the MK-01 from the end of 2014, which later became known as the Nomad. Following this, in February 2015, came the MK-02 (later Scout), in April 2015 a knife that evolved into the Rambler (MK-03) in August, and later the Crowbar (MK-06). Subsequent projects necessitated the creation of new devices and the expansion of his machine park. Meanwhile, the MK-04 (December 2015), later known as the Sentinel, the MK-05 (Claw), and then the small MK-07 (later Spike) were created.

Two years after starting his knifemaking journey, he made his first folder, the MK-01F (Ingeni), a folding version of the Nomad, followed by the MK-02F Humbler, a folding version of the Scout, and the MK-03F Venom, relating to the fixed MK-05 Claw.
In his daily work, he uses a self-made CNC machine, many proprietary devices, and solutions designed for specific operations in the knife-making process, as well as manually operated machines, and more. In his creative process, he combines engineering knowledge, the capabilities of his machines, exceptional manual skills in the hand-operated stages of production, and an extraordinary sense of aesthetics in terms of colors, details, and the final appearance of the product.

Growing up surrounded by nature, he creates and directs his offerings primarily to outdoor enthusiasts, bushcrafters, hunters, survivalists, and others. To date, MK Knives & Tools has garnered a significant number of users and collectors in many European countries, including Poland, Norway, Germany, Austria, France, and others, as well as in the United States and Canada.
